1959

Preparation on the African Mission Field

Rev. Werner Knorr

Werner Knorr began missionary service in Uyo, Nigeria, teaching and preaching while preparing for a future outreach in Cameroon.

1960

milestone

Rev. Werner Knorr

An exploratory journey through Obenekang, Tiko and Kumba confirmed the need and opportunity for Pentecostal mission work in Cameroon.

1961

foundation

Rev. and Mrs. Werner and Helga Knorr

Werner and Helga Knorr arrived in Cameroon and settled in Mutengene, where evangelism, discipleship and early Bible training began.

1963

milestone

The construction of the Yoke River Mission Station became an important step in establishing and expanding the work.

1969

legal

The Mission received official recognition as a religious association with authority to operate throughout Cameroon.

1970

education

The Full Gospel Bible Institute was established in Bamenda to provide sustained biblical and ministerial training.

1979

leadership

Rev. D. N. Njemo

Rev. D. N. Njemo assumed responsibility as Mission Superintendent, marking a significant transition in national leadership.

1990–2000

communication

Gospel broadcasting on local radio developed into television production, internet communication, social media, publishing and online media.

1996

education

FGMC strengthened the formal development of its schools and education structures, building on earlier training work in Muyuka.

2012

ministry

The National Council officially established MINHOPE to strengthen men in the home, Church and community.
